Relatively Speaking, a great July!!

Hello relatives, friends, and family:

We are back to (what passes for) normal in our lives, and want to thank everyone we saw on our recent travels. It was great seeing all of you, and we’re sorry our time with you was so brief and that it's been far too long between visits.

We’re trying a blog in order to get that critical Emmett news out to fans and admirers alike – (he can’t read yet, so this won’t spoil him). We’re going to try to post on a reasonably regular basis, but we have no idea what that means. So stay tuned!

Our July adventures started in late June. We moved out of our house in Santa Rosa, and into our construction site dream house on around June 28. Our former Berkeley neighbors Jan and Dave (and parents of Emmett’s good friend Alex) were fantastic in coming up, helping us move boxes (and boxes) and furniture in a rented truck. The weather cooperated at a balmy 99 degrees -oops! Anyway, kudos, thanks and loads of good karma to you all!

Then, maybe a day or two later, Ken and Karen Smiley came through the wine country and stopped by for a great dinner and Emmett viewing. We all had a lot of fun and it was great to see them. It was a welcome change from unpacking boxes and laying tile (more on that later, or not).

Emmett "mows" the lawn at the new place - Thanks, kiddo!
